E-6 FILM PROCESSING

A properly exposed colour transparency exhibits vibrant hues, a rich tonal range and boasts a longevity that will outlast generations of digital cameras and equipment.  Film technology is the best it's ever been, yet it's quickly being overlooked for a medium that's still in its infancy.  Digital technology is great - I use it in my own workflow - but there are still plenty of good reasons to originate on film.  Photographers have a choice, let us not forget that.

Have your films developed here for the best in E-6 processing.  Most labs replenish their chemistry for re-use to save money on overhead expenses.  Some labs may process your film with replenished chemistry that is at the end of its life cycle and you will not get the deep blacks and vibrant hues that you had originally photographed.  Processing your film is a gamble every time.  Plus, depending on the machine they're using, such as roller transport units, your films could get scratched.  Personally I have had scratches, chemical streaks, and even had film turn out green!

Consistent, Reliable, Professional

With the Jobo Autolab 1000 your film will be processed with fresh Kodak chemistry time and again.  Chemicals are mixed at the time of processing.  They are not stored and never re-used.  In addition, your films are processed in a rotary drum for uniform, scratch-free development.

Colour transparencies have never looked so good

* 35mm is sleeved only.  I do not offer slide mounting because I mount slides myself by hand.  Usually I only get 2-8 shots from a roll of 35mm worth keeping so these are mounted only.  You can purchase your own slide mounts at a photo dealer near you.  100 plastic slide mounts cost around $12.

** Since I am a small processing operation I can only accept a minimum of 3 rolls of film (35mm, 120, 220) and/or 6 sheets of 4x5 film.

PROCESSING TIMES

I work from home so please call before dropping film off to make sure that I am available.  Remember, I am offering my equipment for customer use, I am not a photographic lab with legitimate hours.  Times below reflect processing runs of up to 7 rolls of 35mm or 8 rolls of 120/220 or 20 sheets of 4x5 film.  Larger runs may take longer.  Please call for an estimate.  Different film formats can be processed together.

In by 8pm: Ready at 9am next day.

In by 10am: Ready at 4pm same day.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Nearly all Kodak chemistry is biodegradable and safe for the environment.  Photographic chemistry (today) is not the toxic waste matter that some digital advocates would have you believe.  All photographic chemicals are safe when disposed of properly.  Just think of the amount of non-photographic chemicals that are being poorly disposed of on a daily basis.  Non-renewable effluent like silver is collected and sent to a waste management faciltiy for recycling and proper disposal.
