This tree was massive. I used my ultra-wide Nikkor 150mm lens which translates roughly into a 21mm in 35mm format. Even with such a wide view it was hard to show the true scale of this leafy giant surrounded by its peers. The late afternoon light highlighted the tree nicely while the lower canopy silhouetted it. I didn't think too much of this image at first but a few days later it started to "grow" on me. What also made this image challenging from a technical standpoint was the ridiculously long exposure required. But as luck would have it the wind died down long enough to get this 32 second exposure. Every leaf is caught in sharp relief!
